Allegory Gallery had its April art opening last night featuring adorable watercolor art from Cynthia Thornton.
(Postcard courtesy of Allegory Gallery.)
Her work is inspired by the sometimes human like quality of plants and roots.
For the event, I made:
- Inspired Taste’s creamy mushroom crostinis with cream cheese, sauted mushrooms, lemon juice and thyme,
- Framed Cooks’ mini caprese bites miniature cherry tomato and mozzarella sandwiches sans bread topped with a basil leaf and drizzled with balsamic vinegar,
- A Spicy Perspective’s pistachio cupcakes with pink champagne frosting and
- Hot Polka Dot’s lemon blueberry cheesecake cookies, which I adapted slightly. (Instead of hiding teaspoon-sized squares in each cookie, I just mixed the cream cheese right into the batter.)
